Shoe designer Selena McCartney and her passion for footwear has turned into a skyrocketing career in a highly competitive industry. With over 20 years of experience as a shoe designer, she has a distinctive eye and the skills to turn a brands dreams into a reality.

 

Along with being a shoe designer, Selena is a shoemaker, product developer, merchandiser and works with production to ensure design and technical fitting needs are met. Selena works with manufacturers the US, as well as Brazil, China, Mexico, and Italy.

Entirely self taught, Selena learned how to sketch, prototype and make shoes by hand while spending time in the Steve Madden shoe factory. McCartney spent five years at Steve Madden before pursuing her own aspirations. She designed for Frye and then was the Design Director for Calvin Klein for five years before becoming a consultant. Previous clients she has designed and consulted for include Corso Como, House of Harlow, Rebecca Taylor, The Gap, and Rachel Zoe. Selena is currently the Design Director for Katy Perry footwear as well as the creator and owner of The Art of Shoes.
